Just give me a moment to pick my jaw up off the floor - Voyager 1 has travelled 10 billion miles away from the earth. For the sake of being Canadian, that’s 1.609 x 10^10 Km away.
WolframAlpha says that Pluto is 4.778x10^9 km away. This diagram shows “New Horizons”, launched in 2006, will reach Pluto by 2015.
I also think it’s cool that the “Cassini Probe” (and potentially “Galileo”, it’s hard to tell from this diagram) used Venus (and Earth) for “Gravity Assist”.
Science is sweet. Things in space are too far.
