Mike (white) wins the dance of the d-cards with two pocket points. Generally known for road building, Mike is continuing to prove himself as a versatile player. We also took a taco break to discuss importing a copy of Star Trek Catan from Germany, and the just-released translation of the instructions. All in all this was an instant classic game of Catan and everyone had a great time.

This is one of my favorite blogs and one of my favorite games.

My goal in life is to one day meet Jeff Rubin and play a game of Catan that gets blogged about on Catantrum.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is cutting 650 jobs — including 475 this year — and will begin to run ads on CBC Radio in the wake of a $115-million reduction in annual funds from the federal government.

I think this is tragic. I can only hope that they don’t start playing the typical radio-ads for alarm force and pirate bay hot tubs and the like. Those things are ear garbage and an assault on the senses.

The Hunger Games

The most hyped movie since Star Wars Episode I.

The Hunger Games did not disappoint. I admit that I have not read the books, but I found the movie accessible and compelling. The characters are strong and even Woody Harrelson impressed me. Jennifer Lawrence was perfect for the role, and totally BA.

People that I’ve talked to said it stays pretty true to the book, minus a few details. I give this movie 12 districts out of 12. (HA)
