Apple, when am I ever going to use “bice,” a medium blue pigment made from basic copper carbonate, in an everyday sentence? That’s right, NEVER. What I meant to type and what I will always mean to type on my iPhone is “nice”. Every. Single. Time.
So if I ever type “bice”, it’s safe for you to assume that I really meant “nice” and my gorilla fingers meant to strike the “n” and not the “b”.

I wonder… Why the 13? Is it because taylorswift and taylorswift#s 1-12 were taken by the time the verified taylorswift wanted to make an account? Or is it because 13 has some special “Taylor Swift” significance? Maybe it’s because she kind of looks like a 13 year old. Which could it be…?

I roared with a belly laugh when I read this headline. Could Capitol Records truly be this misguided? Do they not realize that if you were to sort Internet brands by those most emblematic of creativity — not piracy — that Vimeo would line up at the top? Lip-dubbing is harmless and perfectly fun, and ultimately will define the aesthetic of an Internet generation. Other than for some petty legal jockeying towards a greater strategy can I imagine why this record company would try to sink such a potentially valuable lifeline — Lip-Dubbing and Vimeo create tremendous relevance and usefulness for their catalog!
If anything better underlines my point it’s an email I received from Sean Nelson, the frontman of the band Harvey Danger, whose song Flagpole Sitta we’ve now infamously lip-dubbed:
That Flagpole Sitta video made me incredibly happy, just when I thought there was NOTHING that could make me listen to that song again. A thousand thank you’s.Capitol, you’re a bunch of goof-balls. This lawsuit is the tactical equivalent to pooping on someone’s birthday cake.
I, for one, am willing to boycott Capitol artists unless they reconsider, and I implore other labels to pivot and spur conversations with Vimeo in order to determine a simple process to give people access to copyrighted music for personal video that is satisfactory for all. Preemptive strikes simply won’t do anymore!

Lip dubs are great. They just are. And they’re great free promotion of music. Wow. That sounds too good to be true. Win-win even.
The only possible reason I can think for the Vimeo lawsuit is that Capitol Records is being run by Mr. Burns.

Back when we had a milk man, our milk was most certainly always in bags. We had a special pitcher that would fit one milk bag, and you’d cut the corner off the top of the bag and it would just sit in the pitcher. Other than that it was the same as drinking jugged-milk. But with less opportunities for remarks about how much one enjoys jugs.
CBC’s The National accidentily used the cover of an anti-Palin book entitled “Going Rouge: Sarah Palin An American Nightmare” instead of the real cover of her highly anticipated memoir.
Now my question to you - was it an accident, or was CBC just keeping it real…?

So, Canadian Government is stretching it’s arms and yawning as they get ready to go back to work. And by “work” we all know I mean shouting obscenities at “Mr. Speaker” who, I’m pretty sure just wears ear plugs the whole time and decides who speaks by pointing his stick at whoever yells the loudest, and saying “order” so that other people will think he’s been paying attention.
But the opposition parties have had enough - it seems their vocal chords are getting spent, and scream as they might are simply not heard. So they officially announced that they’ve had it with Stephen Harper’s government. Given the first opportunity, they’re going to throw the country into the third election since 2006, the fourth election since 2004, and the forty first election in Canadian History. Which is great - because everyone knows Canadians love democracy, and more importantly almost half of eligible Canadians love to vote! Almost…
But that’s okay because Stephen Harper thinks he can win it. And opposition leader Michael Ignatieff thinks the way he’ll have him beat - is by taking the moral high road. I wonder if he’ll still feel that way after Stephen Harper tops himself for inappropriate and unfair attack ads - which will be hard to do, considering he pushed the limits when lovable cartoon animals defaecated on the opposition. But only time will tell.
